Nighttime on Hornby Island
During the summer of 2008, I camped out on Hornby Island in British Columbia. It will always be one of my most favourite memories.
Not until I began teaching about Truth and Reconciliation some twenty-five years after this incident did I come to realize the story behind the man who called himself Chief.
My attempt at addressing the resentments an offspring would have towards an ignorant parent.
This story of cultural contact between the Vikings and the Haudenosaunee. Great sagas of the two cultures are intertwined and spun into a fantastic tale of acculturation and harmony. This story is still in the works.
